Ane Brun’s Jóga and everything in between

Ane Brun

Ane Brun is really one of those cases where, by pure chance, it appears in front of you and you only have to relax a bit and enjoy all the little gifts you’re about to be given. She’s far away from the image of the alternative pop star (whatever that means). She’s a norwegian songwriter who lived between her homeplace and Barcelona, Spain. You can listen to that catalan influence in the wonderful Alfonsina Y El Mar. She then moved once again, this time to Sweden. She enjoyed much success in the Scandinavian countries since her first album was released in 2003, Spending Time With Morgan. She released seven more albums, all of them building up to the last one, It All Starts With One, released late last year.

It All Starts With One

This album is truly one of the best I’ve heard in a long time. Full of subtle melodies blended in Ane’s soft voice this is really a must-hear album that you should not miss. The first single, Do You Remember, is a bit different from the rest of the album but, still, it is such a great song:

Just as a little curiosity, I leave you with Ane’s appearance in 2010’s Polar Music Prize Ceremony where she performed a great version of Björk‘s much loved Jóga:
